I set up shop in Priorat in 2002 with two winegrower friends, Jean Michel Gérin (Côte Rotie) and Laurent Combier (Crozes Ermitage), with the aim of making a great wine in a great wine producing region.

Priorat is located 30 km southwest of Tarragona in Spanish Catalonia.

This vineyard, following its golden period lasting through to the 19th century, slowly faded away.
For twenty years now, under the impetus of a few winegrower-visionaries (René Barbier, Alvaro Palacio, L.Perez), this region has enjoyed a spectacular rise in fortune. The steep slopes with their very particular schist soils, in tandem with the climate, altitude (from 300 to 600 m), and local grape varieties, Carignan, Grenache and more recently Syrah, produce a wine combining power, great finesse and balance, today known the world over.

The property comprises:
- 3.5 ha of very old Carignan in the commune of Torroja
- 10 ha of Grenache and Carignan, aged from 10 to 25 years, in the commune of Gratallops
- 6 ha of new high-density plantations (8000 vine plants/ha) whereof 2.5 ha of Syrah, 2.5 ha Grenache and 1 ha Carignan.
